Bridal Show Looks To Jump Vendors, Brides Into Success in SC
COLUMBIA, SC — Spring is one of those seasons of love as couples tie the knot for weddings galore. Flowers begin to bloom, the sun shines a bit brighter, and the overall atmosphere is perfect fit for marriages to begin. Brides all over look for that perfect atmosphere to set their future in stone with the ones they love and one South Carolina entrepreneur looks to help those brides and small businesses all over to make that happen.
Anita Brewer-Dantzler is the owner and founder of Jumping the Broom, an annual bridal show held in Columbia, SC. Her goal and mission is to help vendors and small businesses all over not only become successful by networking them with potential brides all over the state, but also help those brides to find creative and affordable ways in developing the perfect wedding for them.
As she started her venture into the wedding business as a photographer with 20 years experience, she noticed that many small businesses in the wedding industry around her were not being as successful as she was in her photography business.
“I realized that they just did not understand advertising. They did not know how to promote themselves to people so that they would have a continued flow of business every single day, every single week, every single month,” Brewer-Dantzler stated. “So what I decided to do was start a wedding magazine that would assist with promoting small business owners.”
This sparked the development of Jumping the Broom Magazine, which started in 2009. This opened the door for the bridal shows, which is celebrating its 7th year in service to the wedding industry in October. Brewer-Dantzler.
“I see that it is helping those small business owners that I was trying to help,” Brewer-Dantzler states about the show’s success over the years. “Each one of them has told me that from the show they’ve gained new business and that’s what it’s all about. I’m just trying to be the conduit to helping other people succeed.”
Jumping the Broom does not limit their services to potential brides either. Brewer-Dantzler is out to help both small business owners and those individuals from all walks of life, no matter what gender, race, sexual orientation, religion and so on. Especially considering that marriage equality has been in South Carolina for a couple of years, same-sex couples currently bring new business for wedding vendors all over the state.
“If you are a wedding business owner and feel that you are not welcome at other shows, you are most definitely welcome at Jumping the Broom,” Brewer-Dantzler states.
